Alavy is part of the Joint PhD Programme of UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden.
Before joining UNU-FLORES, Alavy worked with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on climate mitigation and resource efficiency projects. Her current research focuses on nexus dilemmas in urban-regional deep decarbonization pathways.
During Alavy's tenure as a resource efficiency and knowledge management consultant at the IFC’s Partnership for Cleaner Textile (PaCT) Program she assisted in managing operations, partnerships, and knowledge development. She holds over eight years of experience in resource efficiency and climate smart programs and her expertise extends across sectors such as textiles, RMG, plastic circularity, and waste-to-energy solutions in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
