Christian Philip Schneider is a member of the Joint Junior Researcher Programme (Doctoral Dissertation) of UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden.
Christian's research project is funded by UNIDO ITPO Germany and focuses on barriers to the adaptation and implementation of innovations related to environmental resources (water-soil-waste-energy) in Sub-Saharan Africa. This research concentrates on collaborative activities between German and Sub-Sahara African enterprises with the aim of implementing these innovations. Prior to joining UNU-FLORES, Christian has worked in international development, assisting the research and policy arm of the German Development Institute (DIE), as well as the Monitoring and Evaluation activities of several developmental projects in Sub-Saharan Africa. This work has provided him with practical experience in the collection of data, applied field research, and the measurement of a project’s output. He is experienced in researching actors, problems, and strategies in relation to development in Africa, national development policies of European states, and the role of Rising Powers in international development. In his research, he likes to combine different methods and disciplinary approaches.
