Claudelle Serano has over 15 years of expertise in sustainable agriculture and climate resilience, focusing on strengthening agri-food systems in Latin America and the Caribbean. She has led climate adaptation projects for small sugar cane producers, and conducted multi-country climate vulnerability assessments in the Caribbean. In her nominated best master’s thesis, Claudelle piloted resilience measurement in Caribbean small island developing states, and later expanded her research as a consultant with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture. As an FAO Nutrition Assessment Consultant, she developed an approach to assess nutrition among school-aged children, later extending the study to southern Belize’s banana regions, with the Government of Belize and Fyffes.
