Trans-Plast Team Member
Zdzisław Robert Rypniewski holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with distinction from the Maastricht University and is a candidate of the double Master of Laws degree from KU Leuven and the University of Zurich. He is currently contracted as a student assistant responsible for legal research in the UNU-Flores "Trans Plast" project on Resource Nexus Approaches to Sustainability Transformations in the Use, Reuse and Reduction of Plastics and Packaging Materials.
Previously, he worked as a junior project assistant at the Academy of European Law in Trier, assisting Dr Cortat in the environmental law department. Prior to that, he also completed an internship at the Academy of European Law in the Criminal Law Department.
His research focuses on environmental regulation in the energy, transport and compliance sectors of the European Union (EU), resulting in two published research papers on the EU's new CO2 emission standards for cars and vans in the light of EU legal principles.
