Silvana Huanqui is a PhD fellow at UNU-MERIT / Maastricht University. Her research thesis explores the relationship between Global Value Chain Integration in the mining sector and Local Economic Development and Productive Diversification.
She holds a Master's degree in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics and Political Science in London, UK, and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico in Peru.
She serves as a full-time research professor at Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Peru. Her research interests primarily focus on public policy, economic development, mining, and decentralization. Silvana has been an advisor to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), a technical advisor for the Good Governance and State Reform program of German International Cooperation (GIZ), and an advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
