Professor Mohd Faizee's work centers on transboundary water security, environmental peacebuilding, and conflict resolution.
As a Professor of Practice at UNU-INWEH, he supports the institute's research initiatives, capacity building, and knowledge dissemination efforts on transboundary water governance, environmental diplomacy, transboundary cooperation, and conflict resolution, with a particular focus on fragile states.
Professor Faizee is a former senior diplomat of Afghanistan and was previously engaged in development of Afghanistan’s water laws and policies as well as leading the nation's transboundary water negotiations with riparian countries. He has nearly two decades of experience working in supporting and leading various multilateral intergovernmental processes at the United Nations in New York and Geneva as well as other international and regional organizations.
In addition to his role at UNU-INWEH, he serves as a lecturer/advisor at the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education in the Netherlands.
