Dr. Rohit Ramchandani is a public health expert specializing in global health innovation, implementation science, and behavior-centered design.
He has worked across multiple sectors and countries to strengthen health systems and address critical global health challenges, including childhood diarrhea, pandemic preparedness and response, essential health product value chains, mental health, tuberculosis, malaria, and blindness. Dr. Ramchandani has extensive experience designing, implementing, evaluating, and scaling complex population health interventions.
At UNU-INWEH, his work focuses on bridging the science-policy gap to increase awareness of urgent global challenges and the impact of solutions at the intersection of water, environment, and health. His research continues to address issues in water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), and behavioral science, with contributions to the Behavioural Adaptation for Water Security and Inclusion (BASIN) project, which aims to enhance water security for populations vulnerable to climate change in Africa.
Dr. Ramchandani earned his Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Master of Public Health (MPH) from Boston University, and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) from the University of Waterloo. His work has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Transformational Business Award in health from the Financial Times and International Finance Corporation, a Grand Challenges Canada Rising Star in Global Health Award, a Product Design of the Year Award, and a Breakthrough Innovation in Child Health designation.
