Dr. Vahid Hosseini is an expert in sustainable urban transportation. 

His research explores the intricate connections between transportation systems, air quality, and public health, examining how to transform urban mobility to achieve net-zero emissions while ensuring accessibility and resilience to climate change.

As the Urban Transportation and Air Quality Lead at UNU-INWEH, Dr. Hosseini leads the research, capacity building and policy development initiatives that focus on how decarbonization strategies can contribute to cleaner, healthier and more equitable cities around the world.  

Dr. Hosseini holds a PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Alberta and serves as an associate professor at the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering at Simon Fraser University.
